What Noru stores

Each successful observation stores the original screenshot, text produced by Apple Vision on the device, and capture metadata. Pro also stores local semantic and visual indexes. Free history is bounded by its retention policy; a lapsed paid corpus is frozen rather than reduced to the Free cap.

When capture happens

Noru does not continuously record. A connected agent can request one fresh observation when it needs desktop context, and only after you have granted agent-delegation authorization. The app shows a visible acknowledgement before publishing the bundle. Pause blocks new live observations but leaves stored-history reads available. Revoke blocks both live observations and agent history reads until you authorize agents again. Neither action deletes stored captures.

What Noru sends

The app sends nothing to a Noru capture service because no such service exists. Its local MCP server returns requested context to the coding agent you chose to connect. That agent and its provider may process tool results under their own privacy terms, so choose and configure the agent accordingly.

A Free installation and a perpetual Pro key make no license request. For a recurring Pro subscription, Noru sends only the signed license key when a weekly renewal check is due. The response may extend the local expiry date or report that the subscription ended. No capture, OCR text, index, filename, device identifier, or usage event is included, and offline grace prevents a transient network failure from locking a payer out.

Pro purchase and license

Payment is handled by Stripe, which receives the email and billing details needed to process payment and renewals under its own privacy policy. We do not receive your card number. Noru verifies the signed license key locally before it grants Pro. Recurring keys use the limited renewal check described above.

Website

This static website has no analytics, advertising, tracking cookies, or email-capture form. Its hosting provider necessarily receives ordinary web request data such as an IP address when serving a page. Following a checkout link takes you to Stripe.

Questions and deletion

Choose Clear All Stored Captures... in the Noru menu to delete capture bundles and their indexes without removing your license, settings, or agent-access choice.
