Live perception

Free gives agents fresh main-display context or a least-data isolated native window.

Free: main display

When an agent calls get_latest_capture, the running signed app captures the main display once, settles on-device OCR, shows the acknowledgement, and returns a model-sized rendering of that exact capture. The original remains stored locally. The app must be running and Agent Perception must be enabled.

Free: frontmost window

Passing target: "frontmost_window" isolates the foremost normal native application window. This target is live-only: Noru must be running, and history cannot stand in for a focused window. This least-data target is Free because isolating one window can expose less than the whole display.

What happens before delivery

  1. The MCP server asks the running app for one observation.
  2. The app checks pause state and serializes concurrent requests.
  3. It issues a short-lived, one-use capability to the bundled capture child.
  4. Noru captures the selected target and runs bounded Apple Vision OCR locally.
  5. The completed bundle remains hidden while the on-screen acknowledgement appears.
  6. Only an acknowledged bundle is committed and returned to the requesting agent.

Pause, revoke, and manual fallback

Choose Pause Agent Perception to reject new live requests. Pausing never returns an older screenshot as if it were current. You can also revoke agent-delegation authorization from the menu at any time. Pause leaves history reads available; revoke blocks both live and history access until re-authorization. Neither deletes history. Command Shift 9 orCapture Now uses the same transaction as a manual fallback and remains available while agent perception is paused.
